Friday Night Lights... Can't Lose This Show

Clear eyes and full hearts prevailed today as NBC and DirecTV finally signed a deal that would bring our beloved Dillon Panthers back for not one, but -- wait for it -- TWO seasons of 13 episodes each!!! Cynthia Littleton of Variety's On the Air (http://weblogs.variety.com/on_the_air/2009/03/friday-night-lights-shows-fate-expected-to-be-settled-monday.html?loc=interstitialskip) blog reported on March 29 that a decision would be made either way on Monday, March 30. Littleton later updated her article on Monday afternoon with the four words us Panthers and Pantherettes have been waiting to hear: It's official! Deal's done!
Two more seasons would bring the show up to a total of 76 episodes, making the magic 100 episode mark typically needed for syndication a lot more likely. (Although how syndication would work for two different entities who jointly own the rights to the show is anyone's guess.)

Όπως όλοι (τουλάχιστον εδώ στο greektvsubs) ξέρουμε, η γνωστή ιστοσελίδα www.savefridaynightlights.tv (http://www.savefridaynightlights.tv), συνεχίζει και φέτος την ΜΕΓΑΛΗ προσπάθεια για ανανέωση της σειράς. Οφείλω να ομολογήσω ότι μια πολύ μεγάλη αιτία που υπήρξε FNL 3 Season, ήταν αυτοί οι φανς οι οποίοι έκαναν τα αδύνατα δυνατά.

It took $15840 to buy 13750 footballs, and $3644.30 in charitable contributions donated in the show's name, for NBC to hear us loud and clear! And we didn't stop there.
Over the summer, we donated 107 copies of Season 1 DVDs AND 107 copies of Season 2 DVDs to 107 public libraries in the Top 100 TV Markets (http://www.answers.com/topic/list-of-television-stations-in-north-america-by-media-market?cat=travel) all across the U.S.A. The response to these DVDs has been phenomenal.

GOAL UPDATE:
We currently have 730 new viewers in our Facebook group. Spread the word!

The Campaign for Season 4 Starts HERE!

Our new goal is to recruit 1,000,000 new viewers for the show's third season (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49871419781) to show NBC and DirecTV that we want to keep this show in production for a fourth season and beyond.
To do this, we have started a group on Facebook called 1,000,000 New Fans for Friday Night Lights (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49871419781). The purpose of this group is for current fans to recruit brand new viewers to the show. It is also for people who have seen the first two seasons of the show after it was first aired (i.e they watched online, bought/rented the DVD, watched with a friend or by some other means since the show went off the air last February. This group would also include new viewers who have seen the new season on DirectTV).
The idea is to get these new viewers to post to the group pledging to watch the third season on NBC, or mentioning that they have already seen the third season on DirecTV. They can also discuss the show on the group's discussion board if they choose. This way, we can show NBC and DirecTV that we are delivering new viewers and that they should keep the show in production.

Όπως όλα δείχνουν η αγαπημένη μας σειρά δεν πρόκειται να συνεχίσει για 3η σεζόν. Με χαρά όμως διαπιστώνω ότι αρκετοί φανς άρχισαν από τώρα διάφορα petitions και έφτιαξαν επίσης μια ιστοσελίδα αποκλειστικά για να σώσουν την σειρά.

Τώρα όσον αφορά την πολυαγαπημένη μας σειρά όλα δείχνουν πως θα υπάρξει και 3η σαιζόν!Μετά την κρίση που υπήρξε έπειτα απο την απεργία των σεναριογράφων (Μαζικά κοψίματα σειρών όπως las vegas,moonlight,bionic woman κ.α.)Το FNL δείχνει πως θα επιβιώσει!To NBC έδειξε πως σε αυτή την περίπτωση θα προτιμήσει την ποιότητα απο το χρήμα!Ενώ η πολυβραβευμένη σειρά απο πλευράς θεαματικότητας τα πήγαινε χάλια (101 θέση) και ο "φιλοποδοσφαρικός" διευθυντής προγράμματος του καναλιού είχε δηλώσει πως τα πράγματα ήταν δύσκολα για την συνέχεια της σειράς!Το κανάλι προχώρησε σε μία κίνηση που λίγες φορές έχει συμβεί!Θα μοιραστεί την προβολή ,κατα συνέπεια και το κόστος παραγωγής της σειράς, με το δορυφορικό κανάλι Directv!Αυτή ήταν και μία κίνηση ενίσχυσης της εικόνας του καναλιού καθώς η σειρά είναι πολυβραβευμένη (θεωρείται απο τα καλύτερα Drama tv shows in the US) και έχει καλά ποσοστά στις νεαρές ηλικίες!Έτσι απο την νέα χρονιά θα προβληθεί μάλλον τον Σεπτέμβρη απο το Directv και αργότερα σε επανάληψη απο το NBC!

Για το Fnl δεν χρειάζεται να πω πολλά πράγματα. Αν και πρόσφατα την ξεκίνησα την σειρά, έχω κολλήσει άσχημα (είδα την 1η σαιζόν, σε 2 μέρες). Μπορεί να είχε "ξεφύγει" λίγο στην 2η σαιζόν, αλλά άποψη μου, η ιστορία των Dillon Panthers & του Coach Taylor ΠΡΕΠΕΙ να συνεχιστεί...
Τώρα, όσον αφορά την προσπάθεια αυτή των fan της σειράς, μακάρι να στεφθεί με επιτυχία, αλλά λίγο δύσκολο, μιας και παρόμοιες οργανωμένες κινήσεις έχουν γίνει στο παρελθόν με άλλες σειρές, αλλά μόνο 2 (Family Guy & Jericho) ήταν επιτυχείς. Μακάρι να συνεχιστεί για 3η σαιζόν, και να συνεχίσουμε να απολαμβάνουμε αυτή την καταπληκτική σειρά.
Πάντως, ακόμα τίποτα δεν έχει κριθεί για το μέλλον της σειράς, μιας και σήμερα διάβαζα στο Aussielo report, ότι οι κουστουμάτοι στο NBC, θέλουν και θα προσπαθήσουν πολύ για να κρατήσουν την σειρά στον αέρα, και για την επόμενη σαιζόν.
Και για να μην ξεχνάμε, το ίδιο είχε γίνει και πέρυσι, με πολλά σενάρια περί κοψίματος της σειράς, μιας και μέχρι λίγο πριν την επίσημη παρουσίαση του ΝBC για το πρόγραμμα της σαιζόν 07-08, ήταν αβέβαιο αν η σειρά θα συνεχιζόταν για 2η σαιζόν.

For our fifth target, we were so impressed with the speed of donations for the Quad Rugby fundraising, we figured we'd try something similar that has also appeared on the show.

In honor of the storyline with Matt's Dad (pictured left) coming home from Iraq, we have decided to contribute 15% of our earnings from our fifth target to AnySoldier.com, a site run by volunteers who distribute letters and packages to soldiers who need them as well as to soldiers who don't get a lot of mail from home.

We plan on using the money raised for AnySoldier.com to send Friday Night Lights Season 1 DVD sets to soldiers who have requested DVDs. Some of this 15% ($15) will also go towards helping to keep the site running, since the site is dependent on donations.

The other 85% will go towards buying more mini-footballs. We hope you will continue donating so we can both help save our beloved show and contribute to this worthy cause. Thank you to Melanie, one of our fans, for bringing this site to our attention.

Καλά νέα παίδες!

NBC is hoping to give Friday Night Lights a third season by sharing it with other networks.
The show, which is a favourite of critics and has a cult following, could be broadcast across various channels to give it the support needed for a renewal.
Those said to be in talks with NBC are CW, Comcast Entertainment Networks, TNT and DirecTV.
A deal would see the show aired in different slots across channels in the model of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. It went out on USA Network first, then on NBC a few months later.

Διάβασα μόλις στο tv.com ότι αν και η σειρά δεν έχει την απαιτούμενη τηλεθέαση για να μπορεί εύκολα να πάρει το οκ για 3η σαιζόν, ΟΛΟΙ θέλουν να δώσουν άλλη μια ευκαιρία στη σειρά να συνεχίσει. Συγκεκριμένα, η καινούργια ιδέα του NBC είναι να μοιραστεί το κόστος παραγωγής με κάποιο άλλο κανάλι και να προβάλεται η σειρά και εκεί. Συγκεκριμένα κάποια από τα κανάλια που θα γίνει αυτή πρόταση είναι το CW, ένα κάναλι που έχει και μεγάλη ιστορία στα teen dramas (smallville, one tree hill, gilmore girls, αλλά και παλιότερα ως TheWB με σειρές όπως Dawson's creek, Buffy, Felicity Κλπ). Προς το παρόν δεν είνα κάτι επίσημο, αλλά μακάρι να υλοποιηθεί, και να συνεχίσει η σειρά σε 3η σαιζόν...

The funny thing about medical bills that run into the millions is that they don't go away just because you've died; they just sit there — waiting to be paid. That's where we come in.
Goal 10 is a 100% charity-based goal. The money raised will help defray David Edwards' medical expenses.
So let's keep those contributions rolling in. It would be a fitting tribute to both David Edwards and Jason Street

Δορυφορική πλατφόρμα είναι. Κάτι σαν την NOVA δηλαδή. Το καλό είναι ότι εκπέμπει HD. Θα προβάλετε στο κανάλι "The 101" από Τετάρτη 1 Οκτωβρίου. Η λίστα (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DirecTV_channels) με τα κανάλια.

Όσο για τους θείους, λες να μην βρεθεί κανένας να κάνει τη δουλειά; :)

Δεν είμαι σίγουρος αν πρέπει να είναι στα νέα θέματα ή στο φορουμ της σειράς γι'αυτό αν κάνω λάθος παρακαλώ τους moderators να το διαγράψουν!
Τώρα όσον αφορά την πολυαγαπημένη μας σειρά όλα δείχνουν πως θα υπάρξει και 3η σαιζόν!Μετά την κρίση που υπήρξε έπειτα απο την απεργία των σεναριογράφων (Μαζικά κοψίματα σειρών όπως las vegas,moonlight,bionic woman κ.α.)Το FNL δείχνει πως θα επιβιώσει!To NBC έδειξε πως σε αυτή την περίπτωση θα προτιμήσει την ποιότητα απο το χρήμα!Ενώ η πολυβραβευμένη σειρά απο πλευράς θεαματικότητας τα πήγαινε χάλια (101 θέση) και ο "φιλοποδοσφαρικός" διευθυντής προγράμματος του καναλιού είχε δηλώσει πως τα πράγματα ήταν δύσκολα για την συνέχεια της σειράς!Το κανάλι προχώρησε σε μία κίνηση που λίγες φορές έχει συμβεί!Θα μοιραστεί την προβολή ,κατα συνέπεια και το κόστος παραγωγής της σειράς, με το δορυφορικό κανάλι Directv!Αυτή ήταν και μία κίνηση ενίσχυσης της εικόνας του καναλιού καθώς η σειρά είναι πολυβραβευμένη (θεωρείται απο τα καλύτερα Drama tv shows in the US) και έχει καλά ποσοστά στις νεαρές ηλικίες!Έτσι απο την νέα χρονιά θα προβληθεί μάλλον τον Σεπτέμβρη απο το Directv και αργότερα σε επανάληψη απο το NBC!

...ενας ακόμη λόγος που θα συνεχιστεί είναι η απήχηση που έχει η σειρά στο εξωτερικό. Μπορεί τα αμερικανάκια να μην την εκτίμησαν(δικαίωμά τους), αλλά η σειρά έχει φαν σε όλο το κόσμο και αυτό φαίνεται από τα διάφορα φόρουμ στο ιντερνετ. Μάλιστα το οτι θα συνεργαστεί το NBC με ένα δορυφορικό κανάλι λέει από μόνο του πολλά.

Kαι μην ξεχνάμε τις εξαιρετικές ερμηνείες των ηθοποιών όπως και τα βραβεία που έχει κερδίσει. Είναι μια σειρά που αξίζει πολλά αλλά δυστυχώς με τα νούμερα τηλεθέασης κινδυνεύει πάντα να κοπεί.. (Παραδείγματα έχουμε)
Το γεγονός με τον διευθυντή του καναλιού να θέλει να κρατήσει την σειρά μου θυμίζει αυτό στο CW που ήθελαν να κρατήσουν την Veronica Mars. Όσο και να το θέλεις όμως αν τα νούμερα χειροτερέψουν τότε δυστυχώς θα είναι και η τελευταία σεζόν.

Η 3η σεζόν θα είναι για 13 επεισόδια και ξεκινάει από DirectTV τον Οκτώβριο και αν δεν κάνω λάθος στο NBC τον Φεβρουάριο.

Όλε όλε όλε. Η σειρά τα σπάει κυριολεκτικά. Τώρα γιατί δεν κάνει νούμερα άλλο θέμα. Πάντως πιστεύω ότι θα έχει ένα ένδοξο φινάλε με την Season 3. Άντε πάλι τα καταφέρατε μου φτιάξατε την μέρα . :D

Χαίρομαι πολύ που τελικά θα συνεχίσει να προβάλλεται το FNL. Είναι πολύ αξιόλογη σειρά και από αυτά που είδα στη 2η σεζόν, πιστεύω ότι έχει ακόμα πολύ πράμα να μας δείξει, τουλάχιστον μια ολόκληρη σεζόν. Και ελπίζω ότι όταν έρθει η ώρα να τελειώσει, να προβάλλουν ένα καλό φινάλε, αντάξιο της σειράς και όχι να την κόψουν απλά.

Μετά από την αγωνία που είχαμε για το αν αγαπημένη μας σειρά θα συνέχιζε και για 3η σεζόν, να που πέρασε ακόμη ένας χρόνος και βρισκόμαστε στην ίδια θέση.

Όπως όλοι (τουλάχιστον εδώ στο greektvsubs) ξέρουμε, η γνωστή ιστοσελίδα www.savefridaynightlights.tv (http://www.savefridaynightlights.tv/), συνεχίζει και φέτος την ΜΕΓΑΛΗ προσπάθεια για ανανέωση της σειράς. Οφείλω να ομολογήσω ότι μια πολύ μεγάλη αιτία που υπήρξε FNL 3 Season, ήταν αυτοί οι φανς οι οποίοι έκαναν τα αδύνατα δυνατά.

Φέτος προσπαθούν ακόμα περισσότερο. Διαβάστε παρακάτω:

It took $15840 to buy 13750 footballs, and $3644.30 in charitable contributions donated in the show's name, for NBC to hear us loud and clear! And we didn't stop there.
Over the summer, we donated 107 copies of Season 1 DVDs AND 107 copies of Season 2 DVDs to 107 public libraries in the Top 100 TV Markets (http://www.answers.com/topic/list-of-television-stations-in-north-america-by-media-market?cat=travel) all across the U.S.A. The response to these DVDs has been phenomenal.

GOAL UPDATE:
We currently have 730 new viewers in our Facebook group. Spread the word!

The Campaign for Season 4 Starts HERE!

Our new goal is to recruit 1,000,000 new viewers for the show's third season (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49871419781) to show NBC and DirecTV that we want to keep this show in production for a fourth season and beyond.
To do this, we have started a group on Facebook called 1,000,000 New Fans for Friday Night Lights (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49871419781). The purpose of this group is for current fans to recruit brand new viewers to the show. It is also for people who have seen the first two seasons of the show after it was first aired (i.e they watched online, bought/rented the DVD, watched with a friend or by some other means since the show went off the air last February. This group would also include new viewers who have seen the new season on DirectTV).
The idea is to get these new viewers to post to the group pledging to watch the third season on NBC, or mentioning that they have already seen the third season on DirecTV. They can also discuss the show on the group's discussion board if they choose. This way, we can show NBC and DirecTV that we are delivering new viewers and that they should keep the show in production.
